Hemp

Hemp is a natural fiber obtained from the bast fibers of Cannabis sativa, a plant from the hemp family. It is cultivated in Hungary, Italy, Belgium, the former Yugoslavia, and nowadays also in the Netherlands.

Twisted hemp rope requires full treatment—removing splinters, washing, and oiling—before it becomes fully usable.

Hemp rope is flame retardant and does not cause a burning sensation when in contact with the skin. Being made from natural fibers, hemp rope is susceptible to rot if used outdoors. Moisture is detrimental to this rope, so it must be thoroughly dried before storage. Also, no official breaking strength is guaranteed for these soft natural fibers.

We supply 3-strand twisted hemp rope in diameters of 6, 8, and 10 mm, as well as braided hemp rope in 6 and 8 mm.
The rope ends are finished to prevent fraying.

This hemp rope is untreated.

Prices include VAT but exclude shipping costs. The rope is custom-made for you after ordering and is therefore considered a custom product, which excludes it from the right of withdrawal.
